Digital Stategy

Value Drivers

As you develop your Digital Strategy, you need to identify and optimize the value drivers of your company. Value drivers can be part of your unique selling proposition to your customers or the value that your company brings to its internal/external stakeholders. Value Drivers include (but aren't limited to):

  • Cost benefits: Consumption-based prices, low prices through new cost structures (virtualization, cloud), economies of scale, discounts, etc.
  • Experience benefits: Personalization, self-service, automation, shorter turnaround times
  • Platform benefits: Internet marketplaces, crowdsourcing, collaboration, Internet of Things (Industry 4.0), social networks


The second step in the strategy section is all about evaluating your company's Go-to-Market model. It looks at the current digitalization status of the market as well as the industry in which your company operates. Some questions raised at this stage might be:

  • What is the state of digitalization in the market that you operate in?
  • Who are the digital leaders in the industry?
  • What technology is used in the market?


The third step in the strategy section concerns the evaluation of your company's offerings. This step mainly includes looking at your products and services and determining the digital level and the digital potential that they have. Some questions asked at this stage are:

  • How digitally-enabled are your products?
  • How digitally-enabled are your services?

Digital Engagement


The first place that Digital Engagement occurs is among your workforce. Your company can only fulfill its digital potential if your workforce possess relevant, up-to-date skills and knowledge. This is why our Digital Readiness Assessment evalutes their digitalization level. Some questions answered in this section are:

  • What digital skills do your employees possess?
  • How digitally versed are the employees in the various sections of your organization?
  • What digital skills are required in your company? How can you acquire these skills?
  • Do you encourage innovation among your employees?
  • Do you take advantage of modern forms of idea mining such as crowd-sourcing?


The second group that is considered in the Digital Engagement section are your customers: The engagement model that your company employs is analysed, more precisely, the ways in which you engage with customers and conduct customer service. Some of the questions raised in this section are:

  • How do you engage with customers, suppliers, etc.?
  • How strong is your relationship with your customers?
  • How many customer touch-points do you have, via web, mobile, mail, face to face? How often do you engage with them?
  • How loyal are your customers?


The third and final group considered in this section are your partners. This group includes all your external stakeholders, such as other companies or the media, that aren't employees or customers. The assessment looks at the relationship between your partners and your company by answering some of the following questions:

  • How high is engagement between you and your partners?
  • Are there collaboration projects between your company and your external partners?

Digital Enablers

Organizational Structure

The first digital enabler evaluated is your company's organizational structure. Analysing and understanding your organizational structure allows us to locate potential problems that lie ahead of the digital project. This step looks at the performance of the individual departments, their challenges, their communication processes. Some of the following questions will be asked in this section:

  • What type of organizational structure does your company have?
  • What is the balance between local and global decision making? Does this make sense for the future?
  • Where do different aspects of 'digital' sit in the organization? Are they effective?

Business Processes

The second digital enabler taken into account are your company's business processes. At this stage, the analysis focusses on the ways in which everyday business is being conducted. Every company has a unique history and value proposition, which is why we analyse your digital potential by looking at the totality of processes. Some of the questions involved are:

  • To what extent are your processes automated and digitalized?
  • To what extent are your processes consistent across your organization?
  • To what extent are your processes adaptable to change?


The third digital enabler considered is your company's IT-capability. All your digitalization efforts are based on your infrastructure, so your IT capability needs to be assessed for quality and possible enhancement. Some of the question involved in assessing your IT-Capability are:

  • How effective is your IT infrastructure (networks, databases, clients, etc.)? Can it support your digital ambitions?
  • Do you have a clear IT strategy that is aligned with your company strategy?
  • Do you evaluate all available data and can you derive value from it?


The final step focusses on evaluating your company culture for its level of Digital Readiness. This step includes looking at open-mindedness, willingness to change and the ability to learn and adapt. Two of the questions being asked at this stage are:

  • How high is the resistance among employees to learn/adapt to new technologies?
  • How is innovation being treated in the company?
